About my work / StatementMy works of art are inspired by both trivial and dramatic situations of real life, aiming to give them a second life. Like in a “collage”, I mix these forgotten photographs with elements of either everyday life or of pure fantasy, giving them a new existence in an unconscious dimension. The characters are entrapped with surreal animals in an atmosphere frozen between the past and the present, while they are engaged in mute conversations that I see like at the awakening when the details of what you have just dreamt are fading away. Besides the depicted images, these memory lapses are filled with colours and shapes. The various techniques that I use, aim to emphasize in their turn, the concept of “forced cohabitation”. |
